Essential qualifications:

(a) Educational:

(i) Degree from a recognized university.

(ii) Degree or equivalent diploma in library science from a recognized university or institution.

(b) Experience: about five years of experience in a library of standing.

Desirable:

Knowledge of one or more of foreign languages.

Note: The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the union public service commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
