Advertisement for the post of Library and Information Assistant at National Medical Library New Delhi

Applications are invited in prescribed proforma (Annexure-I) for the post of Library and Information Assistant (02 posts) in the National Medical Library, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in Level-6 (Rs. 35400-112400) of pay matrix (pre-revised PB-2 Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/-) to be filled on deputation (including short-term contract) from amongst:

Officers under the Central Government or State Government or Union territories or autonomous or statutory organization or public sector undertakings or universities or recognized research institutions:

A. (1) holding analogous posts on regular basis; or

(ii) with six years of regular service in the post in the Pay Band-1, Rs.5200 20200/- with grade pay of Rs.2800/- or equivalent; and

B. Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:

Essential:

(1) Bachelor's Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognised university or institute;

(2) Two years professional experience in a Library under Central or State Government or autonomous or statutory organization or public sector undertaking or university or recognised research institute or educational Institute.

Desirable:

(1) Diploma in Computer Applications from a recognised University or Institute.

Departmental Library Clerk(s) in Pay Band-1, Rs. 5200-20200/- with grade ay Rs. 1900/- with ten years of regular service in the grade and possessing Bachelor's Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognised University or Institute shall also be considered along with outsiders. In case he or she is selected, the post shall be treated as having been filled by promotion otherwise, it will be treated as having been filled by deputation (ISTC).

Note 1: The Departmental officers in the feeder category who are in direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly deputations shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion.
